Work Setting: Telecommuting under this contract is required

Required:
• Experience facilitate and host sessions to elicit ideas from business colleagues, understand their challenges, and encourage group participation
• Experience to think creatively, frame new concepts that inspire new D&A use cases, and brainstorm with colleagues about future solutions and services.
• Experience to influence and engage others through storytelling, persuasive ideas, and thoughtful narratives that support the department’s mission.
• Experience to navigate and understand the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent oral (presenting and public speaking) and written (documentation, briefing reports, correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) communication skills.
• Experience conduct research into data & analytics issues and products.
• Experience working on multiple projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader.

Preferred:
• Familiarity with environmental science, water quality, or related fields
• Experience with data and analytics work, data governance, and data literacy.
• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA).
• Experience with, or certification in, project management.
• Familiarity with business case development.
• Familiarity with design UX/design.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Collaborate with business colleagues and D&A team members to understand data needs and identify the valuable D&A use cases. Translate high level requirements into functional specifications and manage changes to such specifications.
• Brainstorm with business colleagues to identify costs and benefits of the use case. Brainstorm with the D&A team on developing the prototype and minimum viable product (MVP). Also, help identify and explore potential data sources for the solution.
• Assist with the adoption of the D&A service or product by coordinating with business colleagues on documentation, training, data literacy, and change management.
• Support and coordinate with business colleagues to track progress and adoption, document value added, and share success stories with the D&A team and the department.
• Mentor the D&A team to better understand business practices and needs.
• Educate and coach business colleagues to better understand D&A practices.
• Build trust in departmental data by assisting in the improvement of data quality.
