Main responsibilities:

Albertsons is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data/Business Analyst to join our Safety Analytics Team. This role will be instrumental in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across the organization. 

The ideal candidate will be fluent in a variety of data tools and platforms, possess strong analytical and communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.

  • Analyze and interpret large, complex data sets from multiple sources, including enterprise data platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and validity by applying rigorous validation checks and quality assurance processes throughout all stages of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data workflows using Alteryx to automate and streamline business processes.
  • Apply meticulous attention to detail in all stages of data processing, validation, and presentation.
  • Manage end-to-end data processes, including extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and documentation, ensuring all workflows are clearly defined and maintained for project management and organizational transparency.
  • Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or equivalent visualization tools to support business units.
  • Summarize findings into clear, actionable insights and present analytics to management for strategic decision-making.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases including Google BigQuery, SQL Server (SSMS), and MS Access.
  • Utilize Microsoft Planner (or Equivalent Platform) to organize, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring clear visibility and accountability across all stakeholders.
  • Apply basic Python scripting for data transformation and automation tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Utilize MS Excel for advanced data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and business processes.
     

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Proficiency in Alteryx, SQL, MS Excel, and Power BI or similar BI tools.
  • Ability to design and develop clear, insightful, and visually compelling dashboards and reports in Power BI, leveraging best practices in data visualization and user experience.
  • Expertise in data validation techniques, including anomaly detection, reconciliation, and adherence to data quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing business environments.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Basic understanding of Python and scripting languages for data manipulation.
  • Proficient in M365 Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or Equivalent Experience. 
  • Ability to Travel (up to 10%)
  • Ability to be in Office 4 Days a Week.

Preferred Certifications

  • PL-300 PowerBI Data Analyst Associate Certification, or equivalent.
  • Alteryx Designer Core Certification, or equivalent.
  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals, AWS Certified Data Analyst, or equivalent.
  • Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or equivalent.
     

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
